This is not someone in our family, and I'm still unsure of the connection. He is buried in the same small family cemetery as my great-great grandfather, John William Anderson.

In trying to find information in various gen forums, I've learned that Capt. J.W. Timberlake was married to Sarah "Sallie" Patrick on February 21, 1859 in Albemarle County, Virginia. Sarah is buried in the same cemetery, along with:
John M. Patrick: 1811-1871
Lucy H. Patrick: 1823-1863 (or 1868--stone is worn)
John W. Patrick: 1838-1860

I also know that my gg-grandfather acquired land in the 1880s that had been Timberlake's. (Please see "Southall-Turner to John W. Anderson" in the "Deeds" section.) The cemetery is located in Nelson County, Virginia, almost exactly on the border of Albemarle County, on Rt. 636 which is now called "Batesville Road."
