Color-Mixing Magic! Art & Chemistry

As part of an introduction to a unit on Color Theory for Art students in grades 8-12, I decided to do the experiment that uses milk (whole or 2%), food coloring, and dishwashing detergent. At each stage of this experiment, I asked my students to predict what might happen.

While our focus was on color mixing, we also discussed the reasons why this works the way it does. Much fun!
