"Rich Cove"
The Samuel W. Anderson family, as well as the Blains, Maxwells, Thurmonds and Lyons all refer to an area known as "Rich Cove." From what I can tell from the deeds that they wrote in the late 1700s and early 1800s, it was an area apparently south of Charlottesville, Virginia just off of Rt. 29. The property is in Albemarle County, but it is very close to the border of Nelson County. Several deeds mention Cove Creek and Hickory Creek as boundaries, and I've marked these on my copy of the Virginia Gazetteer.
I hope to explore this area, talk with those who currently live there, and see if anyone knows of graves or of old homeplaces, and to see if any distant family members are still living there.
