October 1, 1810

This Indenture made this the first day of October in the year of our Lord eighteen Hundred and Ten, between Samuel Anderson Sr of Albemarle County of the one part and Samuel Bailey of the county of Nelson of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Samuel Anderson for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars paid to him in hand at and before the sealing and delivering of these presents, have granted bargained and sold, and doth by these presents grant bargain and sell unto the said Samuel Bailey his heirs & C one certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Nelson, on the south side of Buck Creek mountain on the waters of Hickory creek, containing by survey one hundred and nine acres, be the same more or less, and bounded as followeth, to wit: Beginning at an ash corner, to William Morrison Dec’d and Richard Hase (?), and running thence new lines North twenty one degrees, West Sixty poles to a White oak [the following is inserted in the margin at this point: North seventy two degrees West ninety four poles to a chestnut oak, South forty four degrees West, sixty poles to a Black oak, South] fifty degrees East, one hundred and twenty poles to pointers; South seventy seven degrees, East seventy five poles to pointers; North seventy six degrees East fourteen poles to pointers in William Morrison’s dec’d line; thence with his line North five degrees West, sixty six poles to pointers; South seventy seven degrees East thirty eight poles to pointers; North eight degrees, West twenty four poles to the beginning. To have and to hold forever, against the claim or Claims of any person or person whatsoever that shall lay any claim or title to the said Land. In Witness whereof the said Samuel Anderson hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year above mentioned.
