This indenture made this day of Eighteen hundred and twelve Between John Anderson and Polly his wife of the County of Nelson of the one part and John J. Wood of the County of Albemarle of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Anderson for and in consideration of the sum of One hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the rec’t whereof they doth hereby acknowledged Hath Granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth grant Bargain & sell and confirm unto the said John J. Wood one certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Albemarle on the Waters of Hickory Creek and adjoining the Lands of the Estate of Perrin Farrar and George Blain and others and is Bounded as followeth to wit: Beginning at pointers corner to Perrin Farrar dec’d and George Blain and with said Blain’s line N34 E50 poles to pointers thence a new line N29 E92 poles to a chestnut oak in said Blain’s line thence with his lines N55 poles to a chestnut oak N19 E25 poles to a Red oak sapling N9 E72 poles to two chestnut oaks N33 E34 poles to pointers N2W 20 poles to a spanish Oak S18 E28 poles to pointers E16 poles to pointers N28 E26 poles to a hickory S60 E56 poles to pointers corner to Samuel Anderson and ? Bailey and with their lines ? ? poles to pointers S73 W12 poles to a red oak corner to Samuel Perkins and with his line S33 W32 poles to pointers S7 W53 poles to a red oak Corner to Perrin Farrar dec’d and with his line S9 W325 poles to the first Station Containing by Estimate one hundred and twenty acres be the same more or less together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land together will all the appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said John J. Wood his heirs executors and administrators and the said John Anderson and Polly his wife for themselves their heirs, executors and administrators doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said John J. Wood his heirs and assigns against the claim or claims of all persons whatsoever Shall and will warrant and by these presents forever defend also relinquishing all their right, title claim & Interest in and unto the said tract or parcel of land together with all its appurtenances thereunto belonging. In witness whereof the said John Anderson and Polly his wife hath hereunto set their hands and caused their seals to be fixed this day said date within written.

This Deed was acknowledged in Court by John Anderson a party thereto and ordered to be recorded. And at a Court held for said County the 27th day of July 1812. This deed was acknowledged in Court by Jesse Coverts (?) dower she being first privily examined as the Law directs, and Ordered to be recorded.
