Students did contour drawings of each other in a variety of “action” poses. Students modeled for approximately 1-2 minutes as their classmates drew them, and everyone wanted a turn to model! Each figure drawing was at least 3″ tall, and most were considerably taller.
They chose their best drawings, cut them out, and traced around them onto black silhouette paper. Some students opted to cut out several silhouettes of their favorite pose.
They arranged their figure silhouettes onto white drawing paper, and then glued them into place to create interesting and dramatic black and white action designs. (They could also make a “negative” of their design by gluing white silhouettes onto black paper.)
