This deed, made the fourth day of October, 1898 between David W. Thomasson, and Willie Ann Thomasson his wife, parties of the first part, and John Rhodes Clements and Emma J. Clements his wife, parties of the second part. Witnesseth: that in consideration of thirty five dollars ($35.00) cash in hand, and sixteen dollars and seventy cents ($16.70O to be paid when this deed is made, the said David W. Thomasson and Willie Ann Thomasson, his wife, parties of the first part do grant unto Miss Fannie M. Clements so long as she remains single, and at her death or marriage unto John Rhodes Clements and Emma J. Clements his wife, parties of the second part, one acre of land lying in the fork of the White Hall and Free Union Roads in the County of Albemarle. The said land to extend thirteen poles along each road and to be bounded by two other lines parallel to the said roads.

I, W. L. Maupin, Clerk of the County Court of Albemarle County in the State of Virginia hereby certify that David W. Thomasson and Willie M. Thomasson, his wife, whose names are signed to the foregoing deed dated October 4th 1898 have acknowledged the same before me in my County aforesaid.
