Scratchboard Collage

Students studied the work of Gustave Klimt--noting his use of patterns and gold paint. Using and adapting a fantastic lesson plan by ArtsEdNetter Kris Fontes, students looked for images of people that appealed to them in magazines. After gluing the images to gold scratchboard, which we ordered from Dick Blick Art Materials, they created patterned clothing and backgrounds.

These pieces are difficult to photograph due to their reflective nature, but they're really beautiful!
